This seminar course explores feminist contributions to the study of culture and society. We will consider in particular work that has influenced theory and ethnographic practice in the field of anthropology. Emphasis is on social contexts for feminist theory-building since the 1960's, changing ideas about gender and power, and some key themes shaping recent scholarship.
