WS 202. Women's Studies: An Interdisciplinary Introduction, Honors (3):

Instructor:
This interdisciplinary introduction to women examines gender ideologies and views on women, social roles, women’s bodies and the construction of identity, education, work and the family, economics and the feminization of poverty, women’s rights, and globalization. Drawing upon readings and films from the social sciences and humanities, this semester we will focus on the theme of women’s rights as human rights within the US and in global perspective. Assignments include response papers, a mid-semester and final essay, and small group projects on global women’s rights movements.
